Actually, no you didn't give any good reasons... Only thing you mentioned was the big end of the rod ovaling... which I have not seen very often... As far as revving is concerned, when I say revving high, I'm reffereing to 9500prms or higher, in which case the motor would need quite a few mods to be making power that high... And yes, none of the race teams are using eagle rods, but then again, theyre all making over 800WHP... youre right, the original poster never brought up forged rods, YOU DID....

Look, I agree a gsr crank is a better choice, I'm using a gsr crank in my build... Only reason I posted anything is because of the mis-information in this thread... But then again, this is TR and thats what 90% of the threads are filled with....

OP: Original question, which rods? Answer: Use whatever rods match match the crank

gsr crank = gsr rods
ls crank = ls rods
you get the idea...

With the LS crank you have to either modify the rods or get after market ones. Even if you get ARP bolts and have the shot-peened, the big end will still oval at high revs. A good set of after market rods cost more than a set of Eagle rods. You will also most likely have to block off the oil squirters, which is taking away from the advantages of using a B18C block in the fist place.
all this info is wrong.....oh and dont go with typr r pistons go with b16 pr3

Again, I completely agree with going with the gsr setup... only reason i posted was to clear up mis-information.... Good luck with your build

you do and it is worth it,you only need to shave down the 1 and 4th oiljet bolt about 1mm not much you can KEEP the jets in there..buy some arp rod bolts part # 208-6001 and use pr3 pistons do to no machineing work to the rods are needed they just press in perfect then your good to go.and with a nice itr cam you can rev to your 8000-8500 problem free as long and the block is bult right and bearings are checked
