alright cool. well im definitely going to look into that swap.. but as it turns out. i had the engine wrong. ive got a d15b1. =( and i cant get the swap just yet.. so are there any tiny things that i can do to maybe boost the hp of the motor i have to work with? bolt ons maybe??
idk I remember Ester's B20 LHT CRX (John's wife) and she ran a GSR tranny and it made that engine very happy.
imho deal with it as much as you can and put the $ towards the end result -- the swap
buying parts as they come up for sale is a good as well. it may take some time but in the end you have what you want.

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.

+1 save up and get parts for what you want, only down side is that you may get a lil depressed from looking at all the parts and not be able to use them for a while

guess a gsr will do good also and with not as close of a gearing as a b-16 tranny would have....especially if he is going to do long interstate driving.

haha yeah for real.. oh well
Save your money and don't touch what you have now...all the bolt ons on that motor will give you like 10whp...don't waste your time!
b16 tranny is the ONLY way to go with N/A b20...I have that tranny on my boosted b20 and I am still happy as f*ck!!!. gsr trannys are nice too but I would stick with the b16. My b20 threw down 150whp with light mods. If you need to know more about getting the b20 into the car with the right bolt ons PM me and I will list everything I have and everything I planned on doing in order to reach my goal of 160whp and 140wtq with just bolt ons. It's my gsr killer setup

yeah im going to go with a b20.. which tranny.. b16 or gsr would give me more hp? which would be more reliable?
and as for starting to buy stuff for the swap.. if im building a b20 from scratch.. what all parts do i need..

b16 tranny is great, but itr is better. u wont regret it.
as for starting from scratch, what u mean? from just a block?
if it has a crank , youll need a full bearing kit, full gasket kit, pistons, rods, piston rings (if the pistons didnt come with them), a complete b16 head with a hybrid b20_2_b16 headgasket.
performance parts to use, ctr 85mm bore pistons, arp rod bolts, arp headstuds, and some itr cams, and call it a day. youll be waxing ass like theres no tommorow.
and ftr, theres no tranny thats more reliable than the other, its about where u got it from , how they took care of it, and how u maintain it to make the tranny reliable.
