If I take a Vtec head and slap it on the LS block what can I expect?
Also other than running a oil line to the head what else needs to be done do make this work? What kind of CR would it get with stock internals? Or do I have to switch internals? Anyone have just the basic setup (not 12:1) what kind of times at the track with what car?

Depends on which ecu you are running but you will need a head gasket ss lines fittings dohc ecu if it is obd2 obd0 you need a knock sensor obd1 get a chipped p28 and dont need it hone block new rings get someone to shave and put pistons on ls rods good idea to balance the crank new rod bearings main bearings new arp rod bolts and arp head studs vtec oil pump vtec water pump.....

for reference my 91 si hatch:
ls block
itr pistons
stock s1 tranny
stock b16a1 head and manifold
aem intake for d16
2 1/4 generic exhaust
shitty street tires

ran a 13.9@ 100mph

If you build them right they run well.

DO you have to change out the pistons. From what I gather no what kind of performance could someone expect by using a stock LS bottom end and using a stock B16 head. I have a 96 LS in the previous posting letsrollagan said I need all those things. Not real clear on what is needed? Any help?

Dont use the stock pistons they might work out but the valve reliefs are not big enough to run anything but b16a cams. There are a lot of little things that neeed to be done. Dont do it unless you plan on doing it right which means vtec pistons vtec oil pump arp rod bolts or aftermarket rods and a number of other things.
