Im beginning to think that LS/VTEC is better than regular GSR or Type R motors. They usually have a lot more torque. Reliability is about the same as long as you build it right and dont rev it really high. I can build you a motor if you like just private message me.

I love the LS/VTEC. And before people ask no I dont have one in my car but many of my friends in naples do. They make tons of power you can get the blocks much easier than the GSR and cheaper and if built right I honestly think they will kill a GSR bottom end in power (torque would for sure). You just cant rev them that high but unless you have a set of toda or junk high lift cams you really shouldnt need to go over 8500 anyway and at that point I would just add some ARP rod bolts to the mix.

mmmmm LS/Vtec but still if you go that route why not just choose the B20 block since its basically a resleeved B18b block. Ive got my heart set on an H22a setup but with autocrossing quickly growing on me and the small amount of space it leaves in the engine bay the b-series motor is looking more and more promising.

no way your auto crossing with that understreer is cool if you do it though

Well actually if I bought some coilovers and a K-mac camber/caster kit I could play with the weight load by adjusting spring height better control steering through some caster changes and if all else fails corner weight the bitch BUT it does just seem like more of a pain then going for a good ol b-series.

No offense...dont waste your time. It is possible to do an Auto LS/vtec civic. Only problem that I cna think of would come from the fact that there are no USDM auto Bseries vtecs. So you might have to get a ecu from the JDM civic which I believed had an auto B16. If probably would be faster than your stock civic motor but if would not be worth the time and investment.

If you do and LS/VTEC you CAN put an LS auto trans on there but you have to be aware: FWD auto trans has ~20% drivetrain loss to the wheels. EXAMPLE: Auto EX puts down about 79WHP. Manual puts down about 106WHP. The gearing would also SUCK for VTEC and you couldnt rev it all the way through the power band without comprimising your tranny (manual shifting an auto).

Thinking out loud is cool and all but I wouldnt suggest really doing it.
