b16 or b18 vtec head?

^ b16 head is the same exact casting as type r and cheaper B16 FTW!

^ Exactly. B16 and Type R are closer then GSR and Type R heads. B16 HEAD FTW!

You dont need ITR pistons, just something with a higher compression ratio then LS like GSR or b16. Unless you spray or boost that motor its gonna be slow. LS pistons are low comp.

B16 and Type R are the same casting,the R head just has a minor port and polish(IIRC) and upgraded valvetrain/cams.

Yes. The also flow air different. Thats why b16/type r intake manifolds are the same. They're the same casting but the Type R comes ported and polished from the factory along with a better valvetrain. My advice is this. Fine some used b16/gsr/typer pistons.(wont be much) Get some ITR valves/valve springs etc and put them in a b16 head add nitrous and you have 12 second street car.

look into the golden eagle LS/Vtec kit its nice and cost like 200 comes with everything.
