"When they finally took it apart it turned out to have a chewed turbine wheel. The culprit appears to have a been a hose clamp that was still inside the turbo housing when it was last run"

dude personally i think if there was any kind of hose clamp in the turbo that it wouldnt spin because the clamp would have jammed it or it would have made some kind of noise when spinning it. Also wouldnt you notice a chewed up turbine wheel? And one more thing, if you buy something as import as a turbo, wouldnt you not inspect it and check for the shaft play, take the housings off to check blades etc....

how long have u had the turbo since you "found" this out? how do we know that you didnt use and fucked it up?

The unit was never installed.
We inspected it before sending it to Precision. They were supposed to take 4-6 weeks to do the rebuild. It was much longer than that before they sent back the turbo in pieces.
There is no BS here. All facts.
I am willing to accept it may not have been purposeful to sell me a damaged turbo, but now you need to make it right.

Well, thats not true anymore, is it?

This man went 6 months untill saying something. He says we left a hose clamp in the turbo? IT WAS NEVER ON MY CAR.
John was selling the turbo FOR ME, I bought the turbo from another TR member (TunerElite) and sold it in the EXACT condition it was in!
I called Jon the same day PTE returned my turbo in pieces.
Go ahead and ask him.

Yup. I did not remove the turbine side.
We removed the compressor side and visually inspected that.
No damage was apparent.

very true. Everybody sells stuff as "mint'' condition, but in fact they have never used the part before to see if it actually works, such as a turbo. It looks like this guy lives in Massachusettes , so he couldnt really inspect the turbo before buying.
