jdm stage 3 vtec prob

Talking jdm stage 3 vtec prob

Ok i bought a JDM single cam head that has twin solindo vtec switch..the head is good and i want to put it on my d16z6 block but want to know about the stage 3 vtec...ive found that ill need a computer from japan...it p2j....but ive also read that i could juss wire both the solindo wires toghter and use my computer i allready have..p28...which is for vtec....so my ? is, is there anybody that has delt with this and how did u do it?

ive never heard of two vtec cyl. whats the difference from have one or two?

but honestly i would let that d15 go cause normally they werent made for vtec ... while the z6 is one of the beastiest single cams ive seen beside the f22 lol but i would keep the z6

You will need the ecu(and maybe other modules and wiring) if you want the 3 stage shit to work correctly. I know that when youre at low rpms it runs in lean mode. Meaning that it only runs on 12 valves with a 20:1 air:fuel ratio. Then at some point in the rpms it runs just straight 16 valve, then at high rpms the vtec rocker kicks in. I don't know how that lean burn ish works. I would get a wiring diagram from the EK3(I think thats what it came out of it might be EK4) and see what else is involved. It could just be the ecu, but I know something has to control the extra vtec solenoid and there is no extra clip on the stock harness. If you have the engine harness the head came with, you could see if it comes with any extra clips for it if it has one.

nandosol i agree with u bout the computer but im thinking i could juss use the same and it will hit at the same 4800 that it does now...so im thinking i juss need to wire together the 2 wires and make one den ill be good and then it should run like mine but hit alot harder....if u have any otehr info u could give me i would app. if anybody else has anything let me know and ill let yall know if this all works in the next couple of days...maybe tongiht...peace
