ehhh im with rang on this one, ive used both the the ball hone and the spring hone when i have been too broke to go to the machine shop, it gives so-so results and its not really consistant. rang has a lot of experience and im pretty sure he can use a hone, its not that hard. hone a block urself, then bring it to a machine shop and see which one has a better finish. if you tell me they are the same you are a liar or blind.

Wow way to grave dig a thread from february..he doesn't even have car anymore, it was stolen,stripped, recovered now the op owns it..
