You said you just built the motor. Did it get bored, honed, new rings? Was all measured to spec for clearances, etc?

probably bad valve guides. Also need to get a valve job after installing new valve guides.

Yes freshly built. I honed the block, it has new roc racing rings, has new honda bearings. I'm putting new rings on that piston tomarrow. And if it is still smokin I'm going to put a ls head on it to see if the gsr head is cracked or somethingto that extent

when I had the head resurfaced I had national cylinder head do a 3 angle valve job and check for loose valves guides, and they installed the felpro valve guide seals

you honed the block yourself theres your problem, your going to have to take it to a machine shop thats your oil leak i bet it smokes right from start up.thos Self honeing hoook to a drill blocks dont work.

ok i found the problem. i pulled the piston out and i guess the person who pressed the piston on smashed the piston alittle and had the oil ring pinched. i should have payed a little more attention when i put ths rings on so i got some sand paper and took out the pinch. and i put new oil ring on. thanks to all who replyed

are you sure there are not SMALL or tiny pits in the cyl wall that will make you burn oil while driving

The cylinder walls seemed pretty smooth, I couldn't feel any thing with my finger nail, so ill have a better idea tommarow in the sun. But from just driving it home and to the store I tellit wasn't burning oil. And when I pulled the plug it looked dry, not like a pool of oil like before
