hmmmmm....

leave it to the guy named "STREETRACINGTURBO" to tell u to buy a car with a blown motor and go B series... lmao..!!

bro, my 10psi D15B 95' coupe, fully tuned, with all stock internals, never had 1 issue against any N/A honda/acura or most other cars as well.. its all in the turbo/tune/driver... Also, on my turbo setup, tune, fuel setup, and clutch/flywheel i paid a little under $800... Plus the D15B was $450, so for a little over a grand, I was beatin the shit out of gsr hatch's, boosted ls hatches, sti's, evo's, srt queers, ect ect.... Just do some homework and shop around wisely.. My car got jacked before i had a chance to build it vitara/eagle style but at 228hp @ 10psi i was plenty satisfied for the time i had it..

And as far as fun/reliable, my car was wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more fun to drive than ANY b series i owned/rode in... obviously you haven't been "STREET RACING or TURBO" for a while yet... Meanwhile, I had my car running with NO motor/turbo issues the whole year & half it was boosted... Basic maintainance was all that was ever done...

Exactly.

ALso on the edelbrock kit, that will get you the power you want but will cost a bit more and in the end you will start replacing parts on it to try and make more power. Out of the box yes you can bump the boost up a bit and it is "pre tuned" for up to 12 psi I believe (dont quote me).
Go here for ANYTHING you may want to find out.. just page through every section and youll quickly get up to speed. Turbo D16 • Index page

Now if you wanted to start putting your own kit together it can be cheaper, mostly if you have patience and don't just buy the first thing you see. For instance I waited a little bit and I got my tial 38mm WG for 80 bucks, my turbo for 75 (it might have blown seals...ill need to inspect better if I buy another turbo) and a stainless steel tubular log manifold for 160 shipped (very good deal). Tuning is going to be the expensive part unless you just get your ecu chipped and then take it to a tuner. My Hondata S300 ran me about 610 installed in a p28 and shipped, which is still about 150 off the lowest youll find it but its not cheap.

I would advise you go the route of Ls turbo..it's DOHC, it has almost perfect compression for boost from the factory and a longer tranny than the other vtec trannies so you'll be able to get more speed from every gear and they make nice torque and everything when they are boosted..also they are fairly cheap and of course honda reliable

D-series.org
Homemadeturbo.com

I have a customer that was running a d16a6, eagle rods, srp pistons, ported non vtec head and a turbonetics T3j60 that made 201 tq and 257 hp at 15 lbs of boost, tuned on hondata s300. He is a sohc guy all the way for some reason now building a benson sleeved block with custom CP pistons at 77.5mm making 1.7 litre, race ported vtec head with crower turbo cam and a new 60-1 race ported cover. We are shooting for 500+ to the tires.

It will make that too.

And as for the suggestion of an ls turbo, yes they are good on boost although not the most reliable.. however to go b series your looking at mounts linkages and axles, welcome to a 2k dollar turbo build.. with a stock engine.
