^sounds good,fine you dont have to bore the motor you can keep the motor in the car and rebuild it,BUt your not going to get what you want if you have you rmind set on what ou think will help you and what"respected"tr memebers tell you will work..but if your going to pay more then 1K for a nice build and its not aftermarket forged parts your wasting your money..if you would like a list of items i think you should go with and im sure mtber,Kj,and sleep can work with or change up i will be more then happy to post what i think you should do,and others can as well but only if you will take it in.we are trying to help you

 

toda b cams tear up stock belts says it on the site which belt is recommend for toda cams
ctr pistons, toda cams, crower valve train, call it aday lol

 

Oh wow i just read that he said "toga spec b cams on stock valve train but i hear they tear up timing belts" LoL wow!! but on that i would not use Ctr pistons in a 1.8 street car

 

the b's would destroy stock valvetrain at idle lol

 

ok so i know now that i don't know anything, the other machanic i talk to sold me on the port and polish and he can tune it there him self with crome- save me some cash ( i will get it dynoed when i get the exhaust and intake manifolds i like plus a new throttle body) i 'm getting the stock rebuild with p30 pistons

now i have decided to get a valve train and cams.

with just the rebuild, the port and polish and p30 pistons i should gain 15-20 hp i hope with a good tune i would like to gain an extra 15 hp from new valve train and cams

do they make a matching valve train and cam kit for like 800-1000 bucks

do they make a setup that will give me 15 hp

 

ok thats good on the pistons make sure you use arp rod bolts get rid of the stock ones the porting is still a waste of money you will not see any thing on that so that rebuild i hope is not more then around 450bucks i hope..but yes for valve train i would go with kms springsand Titanium retainers around 240
or the rev set around 260
then a nice buddyclub or skunk2 S2 cams 350 if you can find them here,or 450+new
BUt you can then sell your cams to make up some of that money

 

i just noticed i can buy a new jackson racing supercharger for 2400 bucks

i getting the stuff with the arrow so far and i need to fine a valve train and cam set up to get me up to 30-35 hp with this build and i only want to spend around 800

you do have a nice clutch set up right?like a 10lb flywheel and nice disc/pressure plate

 

the rebuild and the pistons are good. 12:1 comp on the street IMO is a waste. youre not gonna make any more power than u would at say 11:1 comp. i would also say just use a honda head gasket instead of the cometic. its just as good. other than that make sure the cam u get is streetable. you dont need to rev to 10K to make power. other cams will make less peak power over a more broad rpm range than a larger cam, thus a faster street car.
