^ i cant build them with out polishing the crank do to i dont use stock bearings only clevite/Acl so i have to tell them i need the block out the car plus i like to have them cleaned to look nice plus a good hone to make sure nice and round and smooth..if i was you i would stay around 10:8/11:2 compression I.e low domed or else your in the 93 gas range only and your 100miles a day will hate your wallet..cause im sure by march gas will be back up to 3 bucks again

lol b serious is the way, single scams have oil distribute problems due to the cheap ass oil pump and there really not balanced right so it creates vibrations on the crank, so that ='s sohc is less reliable then a b series,

if my block had more miles on it i would have honed it. as it was it was a low mileage motor. i used clevite bearings in the rods, but the crank bearings are the origional ls ones. i had the seperate set of rods and pistons so i KNOW i got the right sized bearings lol. it was just push the old ones out and push the new ones in. but yea....11.3:1 compression is all you really need for the street. your not gonna make any extra power with any more compression.

I love my ls/vtec. Im running a 96 ls block, pr3 pistons, arp rod bolts, all new seals & bearings in the bottom end. Im useing a 96 gsr head ferrah ss valves, 3 angle valve job, skunk2 dual sprins, titanium retainers, mild port & polish on intake side, 1st gen skunk 2 intake, header etc etc. Runs like a champ. Im just running a basemap from John Vega.

Now for the water pump & oil pump. You do need to use the gsr water pump here is a link that explains the reson bahind it. Now the oil pump can be reworked. Im running the stock ls oil pump the I reworked. I idle at 20 but, anything over 2500-3k I stay between 80-90 psi. every now & then it will spike to 95 or so psi if I punch it.

Although the LS timing belt will fit, upgrading to the more efficient VTEC water pump is a good idea and in doing so, a timing belt from the '94-'01 Integra GS-R is required. The VTEC water pump pulley has 22 teeth as opposed to the 19 found on the LS version, thus requiring the longer belt.
