Lowering my CRX
How should i go about lowering my crx two inches or so? my bros saturn was lowered over a year ago and because of it he has extremely fast tire wear. How can i lower my car safely without compromising quality and tire life?
well you have 2 routes drop springs or coil overs. i suggest coil overs. then get the thing alligned and work on getting some camber kits for it so you can adjust the camber with into factory specs.

I have a 1990 CRX Si and the biggest mistake I ever made with it was the suspension. I fucked up twice:
1) Tokico Blues shocks with 2-inch drop Neuspeed Race springs.
-The shocks are not shitty shocks and the springs are not shitty springs but together they are a shitty combonation. It was a shittily bouncy ride. I felt/looked like an idiot bouncing all over Dale Maybry and the interstate.
2) Same shocks as above with generic APC coil overs.
-I wanted stiffer springs and the ability to adjust my ride height so I went with the cheap APC coil overs. No more bouncing and nice tight corner hugging ability...but the spring rate is way too stiff. When I hit a bump the cars chassis would absorb the shock instead of the suspension so its kind of a shitty ride on bumpy roads.
Ill probably end up getting a set of Skunk2 or Ground Control coilovers (if I dont sell my car) and maybe a set of Koni shocks when my Tokicos go bad.
Hope you learn something from my mistakes.
Mike.

i ordered Tokico blues today and an Eibach ProKit (1.5 drop). dont really want people to notice my car lowered slammed to the ground look is kinda ghey imo. would i need a front end alignment after i get this done?
yes you would any time you alter your ride hieght it is a good thing to get an alignment no matter how small or large the drop it still needs to be done.

definitly get your car aligned soon after you install the springs. I lower my civic 1.5s using eibach springs and drove around 1.5 weeks before getting it aligned. I looked at the tires and they were getting tore up on the inside. If you cant afford a camber kit right now thats fine its not 100% neccesary. When I got the alignment done I didnt have the camber kit on so they could only adjust toe. Bad toe eats tires faster than Rossanne Barr eats burgers. After 1.5 weeks before the alignment I could notice the tire wear after getting the alignment and with my camber still out of whack I couldnt tell any more wear after 3 months of driving. Im not saying camber kits arent neccessary dont get me wrong they are you will get tire wear from not correcting your camber but definitly get the toe corrected.
