+1 no replaement for displacement. a b20v at the same compression with the same flowing head and cams will make more power and tq across the board bc the larger displacement moves more air, thus maknig more power. and since the rods and crank are indentical, it can rev just as high as the smaller motor. period!

Couldn't have said it better myself..nice setup with a good tune?
Ctr head with a 3 angle valve job and ported and polished
B20 block with ctr pistons and shot peened rods
Arp hardware through out the entire build
ctr tranny with lsd
= OMGVTEC

well im not going to make any suggestions since there has been plenty of good one, i will just give you the breakdown of my build...

ITR block stock bore
stock ITR rods with ARP bolts
weisco 12:1 pistons and weisco rings
stock ITR crank

1st Gen B16 head
un ported
Toda spec B cams
JG engine dynamics dual springs/tit. retainers
stock valves
ported B16 intake with shortened runners
and stock 3-layer MLS gasket

this set-up with 93 octane and a stock fuel system(stock fuel pump, stock injectors, stock fuel rail) i made 190WHP and 139WTQ, without messing with cam timing as i had stock cam gears.

it made peak power at 7500 rpms, and peak torque at 5900. i upgraded the fuel system to a 255 pump and 390 injectors and got a re-tune but never went back on the dyno to get better #'s. i just added a 75 shot of nitrous on top for good measure and rode out

Easily. Hit 250 whp n/a in a 2.0 liter w/ 95mm crank. Thing hauled boooooty.

get bigger cams than ctr. the 2l motor will be CRAVING more air/fuel than those ctr cams can let in . toda type a, type b, s2stg2 tuner series, or bc III or IV would be great cams for that setup u listed! and get rs machines itr copy piston. they make em in 84, 84.5 and 85mm. i plan on doing this build in the future .

i had good luck with the endyne rollerwave pistons in my LS/Vtec. as they are designed to reduce detonation. they make them for a variety of set-ups. just another option

yea anything edyn makes is fantastic. make sure you get a good header for your setup too! i honestly would not get anything less in quality than the jdm type r. thats about the lowest i would go for an n/a setup. smsp makes a crvtec specific header and lots of other companies like buddy club, hytech (and the replica) and rmf make awesome headers that will make amazing power!
