h23 vs h22
i just recently got a stock h23 for my 92 prelude si. and i was wondering is there any way to build the h23 to get as much horspower out of it. or should i just go with a h22. i heard once the h22 is built the right way its a beast. any advice would help.
A sleeved, low comp H22 on 20 lbs of boost would be nasty, but you're tlaking $money$
It is very possible to get the same power of an H22 from an H23, but would I? I wouldn't...
heh FRM sleeves are strong as fuck...hence why porsche uses them. You have to get a set of mahle pistons or something with a coating for the sleeves because forged steel is too hard of a surface and will damage the sleeves. but as far as boost goes you can put quite a bit of boost to the frm sleeves wth mahle pistons. just don do it on stock pistons because the cast metal that the h-series pistons are made of are not very strong. g/l with the build.

The FRM sleeve is a "soft" metal it was designed to shed weight and be used in conjunction with the poly coating on the piston skirt. hence the reason why people sleeve the H22....You'd be much happier with the H22 over the H23 and don't get any silly ideas about swapping the head.
