Yeah; 220hp+ for 7 grand will keep me away from this swap for the time being. I'll keep my turbo D and keep on replacing broken parts for way less than that. Would I like to have a K swap?...sure...maybe in a few years when the cost comes down a couple grand. But this is the same argument I've had against swapping a B series, so I guess it will never happen.
You can definately build a K for under 7 now . Pick up a K24 shortblock buy pistons A2 oil pump and a stock A2/Z1/Z3 Head with an RBC and a EBay header you can make 250+
Most money you'll spend is on K-Pro and Your Header and mounts . All of the K stuff is getting cheaper ...

I have owned b series non-vtec, b series b-vtec, mitsu's, nissans, and nothing has come close to comparison of the strength, duribility, and smoothness of the k series. Tons of new technology but still simple, like honda would be. A few years back at MRI modified racing inc. jon jon was finishing up a stock block turbo k20 rsx pushing 22psi. all custom parts do to the availibility of parts. the car held that for another year or so then he decided to build the block. The kseries has been proven to perform many times.

bet it takes a lot more work to get 500 from a d series than it would to make a nice driveable street car with a k series. o yea n itl probably walk on that d series too.

im more in it for speed but also resale value,you can build up a nice bseries that will hang with kseries for less then most think,but you cant really resale a kseries car for all you will put into it,but cause bseries are so cheap alot easier to sell for around what you put into it,but thats just how i see it
