alternator ground wire

yeah it was just some random person thinking they knew what that wire was. So how would i go about testing the alternator to see if it is putting out to many amps or should i just replace it

Ok so i replaced the alternator and all is good, now here's my next question, the stock D series alternator is a 70Amp and uses a 80AmP battery fuse. The B18C uses a 90Amp alternator, but do I have to upgrade my battery fuse to a 100Amp? What Battery Fuse Amperage do GSR's use?

have the other one tested at autozone or did you already?just keep it at 80

yup it was tested and found to be bad and it grounded it self out, so you suggest keeping the fuse at 80

Instant fuse blowing means the wire was a hot wire
instead of a ground wire.

If replacing Alt solved the problem......good idea.-Bob
