If you really want to DIY. Get your self a obd1 in car harness. Cut it.
Get your self a obd0 wiring diagram and a obd1 diagram pin for pin.
Then simply wire the harness into your car or cut the plugs out of an obd0 ecu to make a obd0 to obd1 harness.
You will more then likely end up making a mess before you get the harness made correctly if you don't have very good soldering/wiring skills.
This is why $115 harnesses are sold to prevent this kind of issue.
