You need to either convert to OBD1 or use the one of the output scripts used in Turboedit or another OBD0 editing program to activate VTEC ..

I would choose a OBD0->OBD1 Jumper harness and a P28

Then you need to wire in the VTEC solenoid to A4 on the P28 and jump A4 TO D6 to bypass the pressure switch ..

yea, convert it over 2 MPFI... and white u are hacking down wires make it an OBD1 and go to Rywire - Online Store for all the pluggs and the ECU jumper harness..for other information go to .: FF-SQUAD.COM [v.2] :. ...then u will need a P28 ECU or another OBD1 vtec ECU..... the y8 is OBD2 so make sure u have a Z6 intake manifold or @ least switch all the sensors and TB 2 OBD1 (grey pluggs).... last run your 2 vtec wires into the engin bay and plugg it up!!! i'll do the whole swap 4 ya PM me ona price...GL with your built i built the exact thing...

this is a messy pic when i wasn't finished...

Depending on what you want to save on putting this engine in, you could use an A6[si or ex] IM , fuel rail and so forth and use a PM6 ecu. Basically just bolt your A6 IM up to the Y8 motor And you can still use your A6 dizzy, It bolts right up no problem. You then can use an MSD rpm switch to activate your VTEC. Some people don't like to do this. I know it works.
You don't hafto convert it to obd-1 to activate your vtec.
