supercharging is boosting, hence forced induction.

turbo will more likely be easier to achieve higher horsepower.

well ..for a stock motor..either will be reach about the same..ur not goin to want to run more then like 10lbs on a stock motor..which for a b16..would be about 240whp or so..which wont cut low 13 high 12s for a heavy civic si..maybe high 13s....id say ..go turbo..u have a huge head room..becuz after he boosts his stock motor and isnt satisfied..he will start buildin it up and want more boost..which will be achieved easier from a turbo then sc..imo...so if he wants..go turbo for now..get ahold of a gsr bottom end..build it with forged internals..slowly..then use that bottom end and push up the boost and put down about 350whp..and then ur goals will be met..

please do a little research, this topic has been beat to death on just about every forum...

both work, both are great, just depends on preferences and budget.

Both work with the same concept. Turbo is more common & Im sure it would be easier to find help with upgrades, parts & etc...
One of the diferances is that a turbo is 100% gain because it is run off of the exhaust pressure. A super charger is not 100% gain because it runs off of the motor i.e. pulley type system. BUT, in the end you would gain because the supercharger would produce more power than it takes to turn it over.
I would personaly go turbo.

I'm sick of people posting these, like your above anyone here by just posting this, everything on this has been posted like a million times, if ya think about tech would have any new posts because everythings been covered, you have new posts in for sale but thats about it, that would make for a real active tech forum huh? The fact is he probably already researched and was after more of a second opinion, nothin wrong with that. Now if you gave him your opinion and than said yah you can find a bunch of stuff on this in searchs as well, that would have been better. Instead you "Please do a littlle research" what you come off as saying is "don't trouble anyone with this thread dumbass look it up, you just come off as an ass. It's all in the way you say things, I don't know if you meant to come off this way, but so many other post this same crap, almost the same exact thing you said, it's just old and not cool. Sorry my TR brothers, I woke up on the wrong side of the bed and little crap like this gets me.

Well if he's lookin for quartermile tiems/peak hp then just go with the turbo if he's wants more power across the power band/ autocross events, then supercharger would be ur best bet. and since you said, he said peak hp and 1/4 mile times are what he wants, go turbo. What superchargers has he been lookin into?

i was not intending in any way, shape, or form to be an ass. and i agree with what you are saying about the tech forums being repeated questions... the only difference is that on here (i am speaking strictly about TR's Honda Tch forum) there are LOTS of threads about people's individual problems, and there are usually the same 15-20 people that answer questions about how to solve these problems. thats fine, and i try to help out there as much as i can.

however, when you talk about opinion-based questions like "what exhaust/intake/turbo/wheels/shocks/whatever are better?" then what you are going to get is the same 15-20 people that answer all the other tech questions giving their opinions all the time about the same stuff.

there was a "turbo or supercharger" thread in here like two weeks ago, its not like anyone has changed their opinion since then, or any new information/technology has come out since then.

im not saying he needs to go somewhere else, its just that if he would have searched THIS forum before posting, he would have found the thread that has all of our answers already, without everyone saying the same thing over again.

here is the link to the old thread:
