hasport mounts
I did a b18 into EF hatch swap and the first motor mount broke so we made a thick ass 2 piece motor mount (one hooks to lower part of motor and on side hooks to top on the front of motor). Well needless to say that one finally snapped too to my suprise. I was going to purchase the hasport motor mount kit and was wondering if anyone has snapped one of these or how well do they really hold up? I know they have a lifetime warranty but it still means downtime if it breaks no matter the warranty.

Ive never had a problem with hasports breaking.

Yea I read your write up but I would rather stick with hasport than avid due to the fact that they have a package that you can get the shift linkage I need for an extra $150. That brings the total to approx. 550 for all mounts and shift linkage. Yea I am hoping it doesn't break because everyone I know seems to break these darn stock mounts. Also, could you explain what they mean on the hasport site that their mounts change the position of the motor?

i had a similar prob when i did my B18 -> EK, cept mine blew cuz i didnt have the A/C mount on, and its a lotta weight for that little D16 mount.
I would suggest you have all 5 mounts (if thats what the EF's came with) to minimize overloading one mount...

IVe ran 3 mounts on my past 6 Swapped cars, never had any problems breaking mounts. I guess it depends on how you drive the car

I didn't realize the avid ones were a good deal cheaper. The only thing I am worried about is are they weaker than hasports mounts because on their website they even say just a little stronger than oem (avid). The only thing I can think of for breaking these is the I do slam my gears in while running people and thats about all I can think of. Also, we have some nice turning roads out here and I do hall ass through them for the fun of it..i dont know if those 2 things would contribute to breaking mounts...what do you think?
Thanks for the links to those ebay sites...I'll prolly go with the avid stuff and give it a try considering they too come with lifetime...do they make the motor sit any higher like the hasport mounts?

I rebuild stock motor mounts with Polyurethane,
and it almost makes them solid rubber. Never had one break.-Bob
