what motor is this btw?

seriously how can you be apart of an automoive community if you cant do somthing as simple as changing the headgasket, on a honda for christ sake! Its not that hard get a manual, read it, do eeett!

 

note:

you can't physically check to "see" if it needs a new head gasket. Once the head is taken off the gasket is uncrushed and wont reseat properly. There are symptoms you can look up anywhere on this site to know for sure if it needs replacing. gl

and im just saying i really dont think its a headgasket i meen the car runs fine and it doesnt seem like the headgasket its just funny why it has water in the exhaust....and steam in the exhaust too....other than that i really dont think its the head gasket thats why i say i want the guarantee...but im a good guy and there are some ppl i would pay even if its not it like sprjit22 or skunk2racing97 just because i no they are not going to tell me it is when they no its not just to get the money for doing it...im saying if you genuinelly feel it is and you do the work and its not then ok ill pay but if you have no clue what it is and you just say it is so you can get paid im not going to pay you....does that clear somethings up

wb_map: steam/bubbles in the coolant is one indication that you could have a blown or partially blown HG, but water in the exhaust is not. if you have a coolant smell in the exhaust, that could be a HG, but water is actually a by-product of combustion, in very small amounts, and if you are running a catalyst then you will DEF have water coming out.

 

I went to & looked at his car when he needed help with the thermostat & after running the car for maybe 5 min their was a spray pattern (CSI) on the ground from water. Im sure it is the head gaskett AT LEAST. Im pretty sure their is no cat so the collection of moisture in their is out & he said he drove the car like the day before so it couldent have that much moisture in the exhaust.

 

im not doubting you at all, esp if there is no cat, im just saying water is a byproduct of a catalytic converter.

the steam in the coolant, or decreasing level of coolant is another good sign.

 

you never did say what your willing to pay to have the head gasget fixed..... I got a shop with air & tools not far from you. McMullen booth right by the hess or bp what ever it is. about 1 mile from 60.. I need some money...... lol

 

i have a cat but its hollowed out and there is a coolint smell in the exhaust but there was no sines that the headgasket was going out it just went and the car still runs smooth it just gets hot...
