Overheating problem...advice?
HAHA!
I didn't have to replace the sensor, the fans kicked on
Turns out that mechanic at the shop was wrong about my fans not working. Well, so far so good on my car, looks to be that water pump WAS bad.

Shit man! The problem isn't exactly fixed....I don't get it now. Got a new radiator, a new T-stat, new water pump, fans are working....basically the whole coolant system is working. I got circulation now. But earlier today I went to go pick my girl up from school so I was waiting in the parking, it was getting kind of hot (I haven't used my AC since I picked up my car from the shop) so I put the windows up, turned the AC on...and a minute or two later I notice the gauge start to go up real slow. I was like WTF??? So I turned the AC off and put the heater on and it went down again. Later on I was checking it out and this is what happens:
-If AC is on, it'll start to get hot
-Even with it off...now for some reason I start to notice the gauge going up but the fans will kick on and bring it a little back down....but sometimes the fucking gauge still continues to go up!
-But, if I press the gas slightly and let it hover around the 1.5k range it'll go back down real quick...but when I let go it'll start to climb again.
-But when I'm acutually driving around I have NO problems.
What the hell could it be?? Is this a sign of a blown headgasket maybe? I was told I'd overheat easily if it was the HG, also, I checked the Oil and there's no water. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

LOL, haven't heard that one before. I don't know though wb_map3, I'm going to have to check it tomorrow.
How much does a head gasket replacement usually cost? This one shop qouted me between $1500-1700
But I heard that shop is usually a bit pricey. How much does it usually run?

i just bought a headgasket and IM gasket from crown acura yesterday, $92 for both, and took me about 5 hours in labor (but i was alone, so it went pretty slow)...
for $1500 you could buy a whole new longblock, and all the OEM gaskets/seals/rings/bearings for it...
i think a reasonable shop price would be around $300 - 400 ish. you got $100 in parts and (5 x $40-60/hr), depending on the shop.

Yea, it seems to be the head gasket. Dont quote me because I got the compression check around 2PM today then had to go straight to work so I kinda forgot the numbers but if I remember correctly #3 and #4 was really low like low 100's and #1 and #2 was around 150. Plus I'm over heating when I have a working cooling system so the guy said its deff. the head gasket. They told me between $800-900 though :/. I hope I can find something better.
Too bad your all the way in Deltona!
You need to get a leakdown test done so you KNOW its your headgasket.
You said it overheats a little. Is any coolant disappearing? If a cylinder is burning coolant,it can look different that the other ones. Inspect them especially the suspect ones.
If coolant is disappearing with no sign of burning, check you radiator cap. If it cant hold the 15 psi,the coolant will just boil off. Id do a leakdown test next though...
Good luck!
