why are you using b16 rod bolts? and make sure you could use the acl bearings, I think they only come within the green specifications

thanks for the link, I havent decided on pistons yet, i was hoping you guys could give me some input onto which ones were good, also Im using the b16 rod bolts because thats what i was told by one of my friends that i needed to use... if he was wrong, which rod bolts should i use? also, I WANT to boost it, but my friends have talked me out of it for the most because because they said that with VTec and boost, I will probablly ruin my motor after about 20,000 miles or so, and i dont want that...so i guess im going all motor

Find some new friends....or kick them in the nuts because they don't know what they are talking about.

If you are going to run stock B16 cams, don't bother with cam gears.

alright so i dont have to bther with the cam gears? thanks... and what do you mean? would boosting it not ruin the motor if its built right? I think they told me that because one of my other friends had a boosted lsvtec but it wasnt built "right" it was all peiced together from misc. other cars and he didnt even change the rods or anything it was pretty much stock bottom end with ls oil and water pump, with a b16 head and a t3/t4 (i think) turbo... he built it using old parts and didnt really modify what he needed to and ruined the motor after 15,000... so if i built i right , which is obviously what im planning, can it hold boost alright?

wow..yea..u need honda friends..true..honda friends..there is a right n wrong way to build them no doubt...and vtec + turbo doesnt equal blown motor..just got to know ur boundaries..so now uve prolly changed your mind to wanting boost again and trust me..u will all motor just isnt enough nowadays..i have ls/vtec and its strong as hell but i want so much more..so anyways just get some low comp forged pistons if ur budget allows..if not..stock ls pistons will have about a 9.5:1 ratio which could take a good 10psi without problems..stock rings and bearings will work too..honda oem parts are very good btw..and the both gsr and b16 heads are reliable..neither is more reliable then the other imo..u dont need anything better then stock ls rods for up to 15psi safely..also use vtec water and oil pumps. and u should be good to go..goodluck...and dont ask ur friends for anymore advice..research....
