car wont start....
i am by no means a honda newb. BUT, this has gotten out of hand lately. my car was running fine, but one morning i came out went to crank it and it wouldnt go past 35oo rpms. it was the dizzy because it was flashing a code 4. after that i got a "new" distributor from someone on here. now it wont even start. i changed the spark plugs, the wires, cap and rotor button. it turns over and fuel is being pumped fine, but it WONT crank. when it does crank it sputters as long as its floored and then dies... NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON EVEN WHILE CRANKING!!! i am so frustrated. i have no clue what it is. i checked for spark also, screwdriver in the wire and it was sparking fine and consistanltly. i checked the injectors by pulling them out and making sure fuel was coming out...and it was. i was thinking...in all of my glory...that if i had a blown headgasket(i dont know why i thought this) maybe this would prevent my car from starting? lmk what you guys think. i have no clue anymore. spark was there...if the crank angle was messed up the car would still start wouldnt it? i mean, i cant even get it to start. lmk what you guys think. thanks.

btw a z6 is swapped into this car and also converted to mpfi. i quadruple checked the wiring and it is all perfect.

I would pull the plugs out & clean them , they maybe fouled out from trying to start it..
even if the head gasket was blown it will still start,if that doest work try spraying some intake cleaner in the T-body while you try & start it,Im assuming it has compression,easier if I saw in person...

ok, if the plugs were dirty then why does it still crank a little bit? just curious why it would start for a couple seconds and die. i am thinkin maybe tps sensor? what are the symptoms of a bad tps sensor? i dunno. need this f#$$#in car runnin!!!

check the battary also grounds maybe wiggle the crank sensor wire that is code 4

i know, but the problem is that i got a new distributor...now no code flashs and car wont start. it will start for like 3 seconds but wont stay on and idles REALLY rough then cuts off.

Do you know how to static time it?
Can static timing be done with an electronic distributor?
It's possible the spark and gas are there, but not at the correct time.
it gets gas first, and when the spark eventually arrives, it DOES ignite the gas,
but without the spark present at the "right" time; it runs poorly/barely and
finally not at all........-Bob

if that were the case...but its not. car ran to 7k with old dizzy. never touched anything on the timing belt side. dizzy is in the exact same position. i think it is more than likely the dizzy as well...but why isnt it throwing any codes... ill try the spark plugs tomorrow and if thats not it ill get a new dizzy. it sparks though is the only wierd thing.
