The best way to get power out of suck a short stroke motor like that is to get a big cam +springs & retainers , a header, tune, and rev the piss out of it, and for the record a good p&p on average is 800 including flow sheets. Portflow charges like 1200 for a p&p, but when it comes to this mod, u get what you pay for. The last thing you want to do is give ur head to earls counsin scooters best friend bob so he can grab an air dremel and start grinding away. Go for cams and header and tune first.
I'm happy with what I got out of it. I'm sure a bigger cam and a better PnP job would make a diff but cam,springs and retainers are about 500$ right? and i'll gain maybe 5-10hp(i dunno just a guess. for that much I could spray 55-75 wet shot right? I haven't really looked into the hp/tq gains but I can't justify doing a cam when I can spray for about the same price with more of a gain but thats just me and agian I haven't looked upgradeing the cam so please don't jump all over me on this
yeah cams u can make like 15more hp. Get an msd ignition and a nitrous kit and spray a 75shot, then strip everything out of your car. Seats, carpet, sound detnating shit, spare tires, plastic, your dash, u just need one seat and a stearing wheel. Then go get on the highway at night, and wait for RB blue head lights.
for the leaking solnoid clean it off with brake cleaner, make sure thats were its coming from let the car run, drive it around whatever to induce the oil leak. There are two gaskets in the bseries vtec solnoid. One up top and one on the side called the "spool valve".
