I drive a 99 si coupe!! I was driving to orlando last night and my transmission kept poping out of 5th gear on the interstate, so i decided to hold it in, probly not the best idea!!! It kept trying to force itself out of fith but i remained holing it in! About an hour later i stop to piss and while in in nuetral with the clutch not pushed in, there was a loud grinding noise, when i pushed in the clutch it stoped!! I got back on the interstate and maybe 25 minutes later my transmission made a loud clunking noise, metal rattling and shaking noise! I stop at a toll and i have no 1st,2nd,3rd,5th,or reverse just 4th gear! It still went in gear but when i let the clutch out in 1st,2nd,or 3rd the car would bog down and not move, it would also try to stall! But 4th gear it would let me start in??? WTF????? I got the car towed but now where do i start???? Thanks for all advise from anyone! I really need it and appriciate it!!!

 

sounds like the tranny was very low on fluid and since you kept running it the transmission blew.

 

your probly right!!! Anygood transmission shops around the tampa area?? How much do you think it would cost? Is it even fixable you think??

 

I have a gsr hydrolic transmission for your car that fits for 700.00. Nothing wrong with it. Needs new axles seals and throwout bearing. let me know. I don't know if your going to have yours rebuilt or just get another and throw it on there. Just thought I would ask.

Just messin with ya man, it sounds like that tranny is done for, I would buy that 700.00 GSR tranny that he offered to you, b/c getting it rebuilt is going to cost you an arm and a leg..

 

neal sutton could probly rebuild it for less. i would pm him his user name is cxcivic
