diff of tranny's

How can you tell just by looking at the tranny whether its a cable or a hydro, if its been taken off and sitting on the ground ? also how can you tell if its in good shape or has a lsd???

well i tried to find some pictures to explain how to tell if it is cable or hydro but i am having no luck with that... so on to your other questions... there is no way to tell if it is in good shape unless you take it apart... as far as the diff... if you look where the axels go in, if you can see strait threw to the other side with NOTHING in the way it is an LSD, if there is a bar in the way then it is an open diff...

i thgouht you had a hydro ls,if thay look the same then thay are hydro or hell if you have a arm coming out the tranny and it pulls up you got cable if it if a fork looking thing that moves left to right hydro
