These motors stock hit rev limiter at 7200, Mine is nailing it dead even at 6k, what would cause this? I'm thinkin of picking up a skunk2 chipped p28 (4800 vtec, 9100 rev limter) for 150 from a friend, wanna try it out and see if thats it. The had a fields vafc in it, the guy who owned it before me sodered all of the wires back together, everything looks to be in the right spot so I was wondering what else might cause this if the ECU isnt bad?

 

You may want to hookup a aftermarket tach (being as the stock tach's are inaccurate but i don't think that's really the case) .. Also if the car is cold it won't switchover and you will have a lowered fuel cut point ...
