how can i find out if a ys1 tranny is a gsr tranny..

take it apart or install it if you can get to 55mph and its in 2nd gear and your only at 4K you got yourself a ls tranny

I always go by 5th. if you can go 80mph in 5th and the engines between 4.5k-5k its short geared. but the only way without installing it is to crack the case and start counting teeth.

YOU KNOW THAT TRANNYS HAVE GEAR IMPRINT CODEs STAMPED IN THEM.they are a round stamp and has what looks like a fraction inside the circle..call acura and ask them the imprint code for the gsr trans..that way you know for sure what it is..the stamps are by the cv input most of the time..

ya..all tranny's have them...thats how i know for sure what shit i buy..go look at a trans..you will see it...lmk rang if you still need the trans for the hf..

The circles with the 2 numbers with a line through them is a date of manufacture. They are on every part of the motor and just about everywhere else on the car...
