Swap info needed....knowledgable please help
I need to know if a 3.2 type S motor can be bolted up(mounts and mating the tranny) in a 94 Legend? Or if this would be to much trouble is there a 3.5 bottom end that the Legends heads would bolt right up to? This is for a 94 Legend w/ auto.

What is the engine code on the Legend?

Not sure. I know that the sedans have a 7 for the 6th place in the vin number for some kind of engine designation, but other than that i don't know anything else. Could you help break it down as to what the importance of finding the engine may be?

Thanks, but i don't exactly have the block in front of me. There were only 3 versions of this Legend. The sedan, L, and LS. This is the LS i believe. I'm not sure but i think all 3 models had the same engine. If you are trying to figure out if it had the Type II motor in there i can tell you its did not.

no...will not bolt up...not even close
94 legend has engine placement front to back... sort of like rear drive car
3.2 type S were mounted transversly(side to side)

I am aware of that. But do you know where the mounts are on each block to make that determination, or are you just suggesting that becasue you've noticed the engines sit under the hood in different positions? In other word if i were to sit a bare 94 legend block and a bare 2001 type s block side by side would you be able to know which one is which? The question still remains will the pieces(newer engine older tranny) bolt up to each other, and would the newer engine drop in(in the same position as the old engine) without a major hassle?
