Default My D15B swap - Finished

This swap wasn't too difficult. Although their where some diffrences that people never stated elsewhere ... like the distributor plug ( i believe the power and gnd plug (it's the 2wire dist plug)) would not go in and i had to take some meat out of hte middle of the plug so it would plug in , also the throttle bracket's being diffrent .. no one mentioned or stated that to me before . But these where all just common sense diffrences that you can tell by looking at. The best piece of advice i can give to anybody that has a cx and is swaping this in (assuming you are using the stock harness) is to not get the EGR and IAT plug's confused. since they will fit in either location and look fairly similar .

The swap overall went fairly smooth ... except for the dist .... the advance and coil where shot and it did not sound to well while i was turning it by hand .... (bearings going out ) will the Z6 dist work on the jdm d15b ? I was told by some that it would not and that the key's are diffrent. Their is also a slight ding in my oil pan ... i was told that this was nothing and wouldn't bother the oil pickup much (if any at all)

Thanks alot , yeah the main thing that concerns me right now is getting that distributor replaced ... my new timing belt on , getting the oil pain changed out (just as a preventive measure) changing out the tstat and gasket , and soldering my wiring, as of now the car pulls very hard ... even with the stock shitty CX manifold and cat and exhaust ... you can hear it switch over although not as loud as a Bseries changeover , it is noticeable and to some people's suprise it is pretty quick . I wasn't used to the new gearing and the act flywheel and clutch/pressure plate combo so when i took it out on a test drive (this was during rush hour) as i was pulling out it spun the tires clear through first and even kept them spinning in 2nd (briefly) .. i was amazed . The p20 lsd sure does make a HUGE diffrence are the shiftforks any diffrent between the jdm lsd transmissions and the u.s. counterparts ? Because shift quality has also improved 10fold .

they came with the jdm d15b's i bought mines from Hmotorsonline same gearing as the usdm ex/si z6 transmission but with a factory lsd their are some other diffrences as well ... i should have taken pics during the swap but i was too busy and i was concentrated on getting the car up and running .

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.
