Default 93 octane

well my car has a extreme compression ratio problem. Im running 93 octane and im still getting spark knock at any load. Ive had to retard the cam and timing alot to even run some what decent with out spark knock. So whats the most 93 octane will hold for compression

what engine management do you have? vafc / hondata / uberdata / chipped ecu
w/ hondata ,uberdata , or other standalone setups you can alter the ign table and have the ablity to tune around high compression on pump gas.

u said u messed with cam timing, but what you really need to mess with is ignition timing, and also make surwe u have plenty of fuel to go along with it. most people dont have problems running 12-12.5:1CR on 93octane

its about 12.8-1, ignition timing is at 10 degrees, chipped gued ecu, d-series motor, and plenty of fuel. Its preigniting just after 1500 with a load or no load at all

with 12.8:1 compression i think your problem lies elsewhere. with 6 degrees pulled off the base timing it shouldnt be pinging IMO. get it tuned properly before you do further damage
