The whole idea turned from a fable tale, to "your street cars consist of slicks and roll racing only". I could go back to many threads and see where domestic people went from saying 500+whp street Hondas were fable, to now they say that roll racing is for people who can't set up their cars right. No matter what quick Hondas do, there will always be hate. So I decided at track day, I will see what I can do on my normal, non gaudy looking street tires from a dig. Needless to say, many of those haters now have shut up. As more and more hondas get their bugs worked out, more and more haters shut up. I just let my car do the talking.

FWD cars have serious issues with traction on higher hp cars and slicks are the only option to get all the power to the ground. I refuse to run stupid sized drag radials on my car.
I,m not hating on anyone for what they drive. to each there own right. I just think that slicks will hook up better then street tires, and that is what is best for the track. thats all. I'm not trying to start any kind of pissing match. oh and your right, I am a domestic guy.

Excellent point Jason. After spending all that money on making big power i want to put it all to the ground. My 136mph trap speeds are good for 9.80 with traction just like yours. The key is to put all that 500+whp to the ground as soon as you leave the line. Once i have the proper drive train to do that you will see a 9 sec pass out of my car with under 600 to the wheels. I'm about $2,500 away from that. One more year and 9's will be here in a street driven civic. It has already been done many times just not here in tampa.

i am kinda torn in between both i love the way slicks hook and rule out the tractionless issue. but i would like to see the best i could accomplish on street tires, i have beat domestics that run 11.80s on street tires on MY street tires, but still like the way slicks pull.

my personal goals are 10.80s from a street driven honda with less than 500 hp, just good ole fashion badass driving........haha

Well this is a totally different issue for us then you. RWD loves street tires because on DR's RWd can pull the same 60ft that a FWD would on slicks. So you cant even compare. What should i put on the front of my car? I basically have 2 choices only. 235/60/15 0r 275/50/15. Both dont fit and my car has to be modified to run them. Lets try a 14inch? 225/60/14. Wow those are huge! So the biggest street tire that will fit with no mods? 225/50/15. Thats what 60-1Ek runs and what he used for the track. Not good traction. Well now for your tire sizes that you can use. I dont have enough time to type them all. I will make it easy for you. When i run street tires against street tires i'm up against Cameros and mustangs with either 295's or 315's on the back in a DR. Thats wider then my slicks. You are in the wrong forum asking these questions because we dont have a choice in street tires like yourself. So i will run slick to slick with me cutting a 1.6 60 ft and you cutting a 1.3. One word UNDERDOG. I still manage to win most of the time.

My hater mark was not pointed at you at all. In fact I had never seen any of your posts before this thread. It was at most stereotypical domestics and AWD cars that say roll racing is all that we quick imports will do.

I was cutting 2.116 60' on my drag radials. Domestics can cut that on some econo tires in the rain. I just wanted to see what the best I can do from a dig on my normal street tire setup. When I want to see how much stuff I can break, or how fast I can go is when I put on the slicks.

I guess you missed my point. Well the best my car could possible run would be high 9's so there is no point in racing me. If you think you are still fast and want to challange a honda there is one locally that is faster then the time you have posted. Has your car ever run 8's? Not that this has anything to do with our debate over street tires.
