ls/vtec... think this setup will last?
i got a chance of pickin up this setup for pretty cheap and i was wonderin if with the right tuning, this sounds like a fairly reliable setup??
90 LS bottom end, with new bearings and seals.
Bored out .25 over
Block was decked 5 Thousandths
Shotpin LS Rods
ARP rod bolts
ARP head studs
.25 Over JDM ITR Pistions
GSR water pump
B16 oil pump
GSR timing belt
JE Piston rings
LS VTEC Cosmetic head gasket
AEM Fuel Rail
Holley Fuel Pressure Regulator
Exedy Stage 2 Clutch
90 B16 head, with new valve steam seals.
5 Angle Valve Job
Port and Polish
Shaved 30 thousandths
ITR valve springs and retainers
ITR cams
Bronze STR cam gears
RC 270 injecters
JDM dc sports 4-1 header
chipped ecu (no governor, no rev limiter)
VAFC (still needs to be tuned)

I didnt know you could get OEM pistons in .030 over. Last I saw you can get .025 and .050... Then again... it's been a while.
Why would you get JE Rings and OEM pistons?
Yes the setup would be fine.
Go with an ITR oil and water pump if you can. At least do the same of both.

Im not sure I fully understand valve jobs... But If I do understand correctly, where they modify the head on the valve, I dont see why it wouldn't be safe on a ported or non-ported head? How does a valve job interact with a ported head? What wouldn't be safe about it?
If a setup is built properly to spec, it will last as long as the driver wants it to.
Most motors going to shit is due to drivers missing gears & over revving their motors etc.
Also, another reason a lot of motors go to shit, is just due to lack of maintnence such as checking oil levels etc.
