The head will have to be pulled reguardless, as the block will need a fresh hone... I say go ahead and buy some new pistons, like some b16 pistons with rings, hone the block to make sure the cylinder walls are nice and smooth and wont eat up the new rings, buy the crank from mtber, get the proper bearings (they go by color code based on the mic) and while you are at it, it wouldnt hurt to replace the oil and water pumps with some off of a vtec motor.... after all this, throw it back together with new bearings and gaskets where needed (you can buy rebuild kits that will include all of this) put some easy-goin grandma miles on it to make sure everything seats right, and be sure to change the oil after the first 30 minutes, then again after 200 miles, and again after an additional 500, then just keep it changed as often as you can afford... it is reccomended at LEAST every 3k, but I change mine about every 1500 just to be safe...
