It's a fantastic motor IMO. It gets great gas milage. Works wonders in a light chassis, such as a CRX or an EG Civic. The motor is about 75lbs lighter than the DOHC. Parts for this motor are dirt dirt cheap! The motor does very well turbo charged on safe boost (guy I worked with had his turbo kit on his 98 EX coupe when it turned 1k in 1998. He now has 80k with no problems). N/A setup for this car is very cheap, a nicely built setup can cost only $1000.

I have a '94 Civic EX with this motor and it is not the quickest in the hefty coupe, but it definatley holds its ground. It gets great gas milage, never given me problems. I've betten alot of people I shouldn't have in this car (the engine is completely stock).

This motor is something to consider if your on a budget. It will definatley give Integra GSR and Civic Si a run for their money in a light chassis.

My $0.02

i would think about getting a SOHC but i have a 91 teg and i dont think that will be good enough. i would like to have my b17a1 back but sold it.... bad idea. i am looking for a good gsr motor or even just a place to do rebuilds on a b18a1 cause i am at 213k which is a lot... someone has to know a good place to get a rebuild for a good price.
