I need a wiring diagram for the 88, 89, or 91 crx gauge cluster with a tach. One of the clusters is from a 89 DX and the other is from a 91 SI. I have a 88 crx and the cluster ground was burnt so I got a 91 si and a 89 dx but niether are working. I attempted to repin the clips but the conversion diagram I have is for the non-tach 90 dx so it was wrong. Then when I re-pined it back nothing but the speedo, turn signal, and bright lights indicator work. So I need a helms manual or the schematics for the clusters and wiring. Or someone who has done this before.

It should have been plug and play. I have a haynes but it sucks ass and I dont have a scanner

 

I have the haynes but I didn't see the cluster diagram in it.

 

it is plug and play if you mean you can plug it in and play with everything till you get it right. there are several wires that need to be swapped around within each plug and there are 2 wires, 1 from each plug, that need to be swapped from 1 plug to the other. I will try to see if I can find the notes from my swap but I looked at the circuit path and traced it by hand to see where each one goes and drew up my own pin out diagram for both clusters then swapped the pins to where they needed to be.

this can be a hard way to go if you don't understand electronics and electrical flow, given that there are several indicator lights that have a common connection and then seperate triggers as well as a few diodes in the set up.

 

I have a 1989 honda dx and I swaped a honda crx hf gauge cluster(with tach) into my car and everything works.

Do me a favor Mike take your cluster out and write the wire colors down for me. The plugs read if your looking at the plug from the side that enters into the cluster the non-wire side (B12-B1) on the left and on the right (A8-A1).
