is it a strong motor for a first time driver.....reliable, gas mileage, whats the HP and TQ #s also if someone has them.

It's a Honda, so it's reliable. It's a four banger, so gas is ok, and as far as the numbers, www.edmunds.com.

i have one in my Ex and well i have beat the shit out of it for the past 3yrs and the last yr. here has been with red line of 9k stock internals....so i would say yes a very good engine, in my mind the strongest stock engine honda has made....
