you use an EGT to tune timing. you use a wideband to tune fuel. The timing was pulled 0.7 degrees per lbs of boost. which is too much timing pull.

The thunderbird turbo is the same turbo used on the mustang, merkur xrti (or something), all the turbo 2.2L ford motors, they are all 60 trim, .60 a/r compressors, the manuals have .63 turbines, autos have .48 turbine. I should post the dyno graph of when we tried to run 16 psi, made like 250hp @ 4500, lol. Let off cuz it went higher than we wanted

I got something for those hot temps

If your egt's are too high, add timing to a certain degree.

Since timing changes have a direct effect on exhaust gas temperature, an egt gauge is a good reference tool to use to dial the timing in. Especially if you are familiar with tuning similar setups, egt can easily tell you if you're running too much or too little advance. From there you have a better and safer starting point from which to tune for max power. On street cars where running conditions change often, an egt gauge is also a good reference to make sure your mixture is staying consistent.

Also its good to know when you're about to burn something up running through 5th gear on the highway...haha

cronic, you must be shittin your pants when u see people running 20lbs of boost on 14b's on 16g's and stuff. I am more than happy with the power I am making. I can beat 99% of the cars on the street and have a nice powerband
