.48a/r... wow that seems a little small... i would personally go with the .63... if you ever got a swap in there this turbo would still be idea for you... and lag, you will not have a problem with a .63ar...

PS i dont like SRP pistons. for an extra 100bucks go with a CP or endyn. with good tuning the pistons shouldnt be an issue but if for some reason a little detonation occurs kiss those suckers goodbuy...theyre not very forgiving.
SRP=shitty racing piston
how much did u pay for the srp's with rings???

I like the .48ar personally for your app, if you ever did decide thath the turbo was sufficient i dont think that just having the .63ar would support the extra hp you would want to make anyways. So for your current setup and current goals the .48ar would seem to fit you better.
As said above if you swap and want more power you will want the .63ar...But i think if you really wanted more power you would need to upgrade the turbo regardless, hence my thoughts on the .48ar
and also i like the greddy profec b spec II also, not from experience yet although i have heard great things and the price for that EBC is pretty damn good!

Keith, Dave... remember this is a SOHC motor, a .48 a/r is ideal for his application.
Dave, SRP pistons are fine for a street motor, the tolerances are not all that great (.01 instead of .001 like Endyn Wiseco, or Arias) but they will do as long as the block wasn't honed too much.
As far as the detonation issue, they are FORGED pistons, they hold up well against detonation, I never had a problem with mine. In fact, you could see mine still sitting in my block, with no damage to them from my breaking a rod. (other then chips from them bouncing around the cylinder wall.)
If you have the cash, go Wisego or Arias, with Eagle, or Crower rods, depending on goals. If not, don't pass up the SRP's as a decent inexpensive alternative.

hspmick: Having a .63 a/r will allow less pressure in the exhaust manifold/exhaust, and less pressure there will allow for a better breathing exhaust. If your motor has little spool issues with a .63 a/r, like a B series motor does. Go for it. However with a D series your spool will be 2k rpm slower (putting you around 4500-5500rpm). A .63 a/r will most certainly allow for larger power gains alone.
On a side note, moving to a stage 3 wheel will flow nearly as much as a .63 a/r and keep the backpressure to a minimum. It's when he starts to reach the peak power of the turbo where he will run into problems with backpressure on the .48 a/r. Although i don't see that happening.
Hope this helps.

yeah i understand all that and he is using an SOHC, that is why i said the .48ar would be nice, and vapor stated above about the stage 3 wheel already and i figures that was put into the plans for the turbo, That is the reason i suggested the .48ar. the power differences between a .48 and .63 are nothing worth sacrificing the spool time on the sohc in my opinion. That is why i would go with the .48ar... All in all it is completely preference for him,

i melted and srp piston with stock rods and sleeves which i would expect to give out before any aftermarket piston. he said he wanted 300whp out of that sohc, which is a decent amount of power and i wouldnt use those pistons for that much power altho they will 'probably' hold up fine
