They just can't handle the cylinder pressure. If you're going to sleeve a motor, you can go with an LS and save a lot of money, and end up with the same. Since you are sleeving, you can push the bore way out, to 85 or even 86 mm, giving you a solid 2.1 liter motor. I always recommend the use of forged internals for high power applications. I could go on and on and on, but if you are wanting to build something, give us a call I can set you out a build to easily obtain anywhere from 180whp to 230+++
I was wanting of course to go with a FI system. Would you recommend just going with an LS and bore it ? Its just about the same as boring a GSR. I just wanted to have the gay ricer B20 stamp on the block. Is this a good block to use as a base or would you reccomend smaller B series and sleeve and bore them ? I wanted to start with all stock components and see howmuch i couold get and then start a good solid build up. I see what your sayin about boring the B20 get a nice big liter engine.

my b20 vtec is pushing 208whp and 146 wtq w/ stock sleeves. been runing it for a year. my compression is around 12.5 to 1 . b20 sleeves are not the strongest but if the car is built and tuned right it can work. another guy on this board is running a big shot of nos on a stock bottom end and he runs his car hard w/ no cracked sleeves. just letting you know sleeving is not a must.

ive stated there not the strongest but dont over state te problem. you make it sound like only 1 out of every 10 dont crack.im sure well over 50% of the blocks being used are not cracking. the problem is the only people posting are the ones w/ cracked sleeves. most people dont start threads saying HEY MY B20 BLOCK DOESNT HAVE CRACKED SLEEVES.
