ls in del sol
Ok ... new question Can i use a regular LS block and rotating assembly but put a type r head or gsr head on it ? That would give me more power because of the vtec feature. How hard is this to do?> is there any extra wiring needed because of vtec? What would be a good choice in my case ? i need advice!
yes you can its called a ls/vtec you are going to have to take the block to a machine shop to get the oil hole drilled for vtec. Yes there will be extra wiring. check out some of the mags. ls/vtecs are getting pretty common. you can see tech articles online also

thats a whole different ball game. i know keith isnt a big fan of ls/vtecs......but if its done right it can be a good setup. finding a gsr or type r head won't be easy though. you're better off looking for a b16 head. either way, all vtec heads will net you around a 30 hp increase over the ls. an ls will make the car much more fun to drive though. if you do plan to go ls/vtec, you would need a much larger investment. i would suggest just getting the ls to start with.

don't worry about power yet. that could get messy.... Just find an ls motor and start to worry more about suspension components and drive train stuff more than power adders like the ls/vtec frankenstien swap. you'll be able to appreciate the del sol more with the ls and a suspension, chassis, and drivetrain that can handle it. good luck with the del sol. - KOOPA
hehe, does he want to go the ls/vtec route in here?
lol, considering its been a MAJOR topic of debate?...lol
yeah id just start off with the stock LS, you will notice a considerable diffrence.

OK here goes.
92-95 Civic is a Civic, Del Sol is a Civic, Civic Del Sol its just like
Civic EX, Si , CX, VC ,HX, Del Sol
All Swap any B series will swap in, needing a complete swap mounts and all.
LS/VTEC No Block work is needed ! The head has to be drilled and plugged.
Oil passge has to be closed for the internal oil passage. and the dowel pins have to be moved. an external oil line is added for the Oil to flow to the head.
Here are diurections for swapping a B serie into a Civic.

Need any helpor parts let me know I have a 96 LS Longblock for sale !
oh for the Cost of this !!
Hmotorsonline.com LS Swaps are about 2k $ + or - a few hundred. Cant gurantee condition.
ease of install if you have some mechanical skills and enough tools its a weekend ordeal. Make sure you keep with the same OBD system or swap to an OBDI.
Swaps are easy ! building is where it gets difficult.
