ls reving to 8?
without building up the head i wouldnt recommend it. maybe like 7300-7400 tops. plus the head is stock with stock cams, so it wont hold good power that high anyway. id say 7200rpm sounds good to me for now
ls motors (b18a1) redline out a 7200, with the ls rod ratio i would not go past this with stock internals, like stock ls rods. now if you had forged internals with a better rod ratio, and some head work to go with the internal work then reving past 7200 can be done safely.

the ls heads arent meant to rev that high. the bottom end will be fine to go to 7800-8000rpm. but the free floating rockers werent really designed to handle that high of rpms. ive seena lot of people over rev their ls heads and somehow the valve clearances will open up causing the head to make some nasty noises and they just gotta limp it home and do an adjustment.
