No. The myth about LS trans....longer time in boost...has been strung along for the longest time. The B16 trans or the Gsr trans is the best trans for boosted cars. If you can get the power to the ground, you will want to rip through them. You can put an LS 4th and 5th gear in the trans so you dont have to shift was you go through the traps and will also get good rpms/gas mileage on the interstate. Almost every quick civic....almost all the pro racers....all use Gsr or B16a trans.

I agree with what you said till the end. With the power you are planning with your new turbo on the street LS is were it's at.The pros do use GSR trannys and the reason is this. They are using at the smallest a 24inch slick, most run a 26.With a tire that tall you need to gear it down. You are not running tires on the street that tall. The gear ratio is changed with the slicks.Different trannys work for different set-ups.There is no one that is best all around. You can see this by the different opinions.

Yep, 12.4 on a GSR tranny, 12.6 on a LS tranny, samewhat the same 60" foot time (.1-.25 difference), same height slicks, almost same temp and track conditions, reaction time, same driver, etc, etc.
What was different was the MPH only!
