The ground that goes from the tranny to the frame, I have seen that problem over and over, with new swaps.. Should be a 8guage wire black with yellow stripe..

grounds are good. the car started previously . but ignition was bad (cranked on the second notch instead of third) so that was replace now it just has the three relays clicking under the hood.

You thought it was the starter, but now your'e checking the ignition?

If it was the starter, it wouldn't crank at all...

Pull your wires one at a time and stick at screwdriver in it and look for a spark as you crank the ignition, if you have spark its not the ignition...

If its just cranking and not starting with positive spark, check your fuel pump...

Put the key on ON and open up the fuel feed bolt by the filter, look for fuel to come out...If it doesn't, add a gallon of gas and check again...

If it still doesn't, drop the tank and check the fuel pump and its connection...

If its not the pump and its connections, check to see if your timing belt is tight and is set at the right alignment...

If that doesn't help it, check your ECU for a tight connection or a bad ECU...

the starter is good.

As stated above, there is no clutch switch, the car is an 89 civic hatch.
