Talking Fix my hatch, win $100!!!

My hatch will not start. I replaced the ignition switch, and the relays. When I try to start it, all it does is click. When I first got the thing together, it was trying to start in the second key position, there was wiring that was spliced, I guess for an aftermarket alarm. So I returned all the wires back to their stock location. I turn the key and now the starter solenoid just clicks. If you can get my car to start like it is supposed to, you win $100.

i think it may be your battery... check your terminals... if they look like crap get some new terminals... or get your battery tested to see if thats it...

Brand new battery, and terminals, so it can't be that.

Have you tried pop starting it?

Additionally, I have purchased batteries that were new and needed a jump. Bad grounds could also cause your issue. Try the jump or pop start as well.

I am starting up a newly installed motor, so I don't really want to pop start it. I haven't tried hitting the starter with a hammer, but I guess I could try that. The starter doesnt even turn, it just clicks. All of the cables and such are secure. I believe this is more like a wiring issue, but I don't have the tools to test wires, or the knowhow of what I am testing for.

apply direct current to the starter and see if it turns over if so then you have a bad starter signal. Mines did the same thing after i did my swap it was the cable from the ignition to the fusebox(think yellow cable with black line). Check to see it that works. youll need a volt meter to check to see if the ignition switch and starter are getting a signal
