Default 02 Fbody valvetrain

im looking at upgrading my valve train sometime soon.....one of my lifters is collapsed and while im in there replacing that, i wanna get some more performance out of my engine.

as of now the engine is a bone stock engine, and im going to be running 4.11 gears in the rear when they get in (wed/thur), and I have a 6 spd. tranny.

I dont wanna go extreme, just get a little more performance, without spending too much, because eventually im gonna build up a whole engine for this car and trans, and swap them out.....but that wont be till i have another DD....

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, and im also looking for something that won't upset the knock sensors either....

thanks in advance

i understand that, but i gotta go in and change a lifter anyway, since one collapsed....

so i figure might as well change some valvetrain with how much of a pain it is going to be to change a lifter

...how do you know its collapsed?

and keep it stock till you build this other engine. unless your going to buy boltons like lid and headers or something. no point in throwing money at this then putting used parts all into your "new" motor.

cause its ticking, im pretty damn sure its a collapsed lifter, not sure what else it could be....

reason im looking into a cam is because the stock might be screwed up by the bad lifter...

Throwing parts at a motor without the right combo wont do anything but make your wallet thinner.

Hook it up with stock parts and focus on the bolt ons.

upgrading valvetrain ain't gonna do much without a cam or another accesories that need them.

A collapsed lifter is a stock car is almost unheard of. The LS1 valvetrain is very loud stock anyways. What did you do to determine its actually a lifter?

Just do all the bolt ons. Itll net you ~360 to the wheels. Anything else is pointless without all the other stuff.

it only sounds like its one lifter, and not the whole valvetrain.....and its bad enough to set my knock sensors off....

although i dont have too much experience with the LS1's, would someone care to come by and hear what I'm talking about?
