noting wrong with welding a 3" cutout on a 2.75" OEM intermediate pipe. it will flow fine.

i enjoy my OEM SLP catback with cutout (old school three bolt style) lol. plus it was 40 bucks installed.

do you just drive around with it open all the time, or do you actually keep it closed

and where did you have it installed?

with that DMH performance link, they have a 4 year warrenty. which isnt bad at all, so if it does take a shit, swap it out. although youll have to have it cut out and welded back in i guess

Nah, they weld the Y in with a special 3 bolt flange that you bolt the electric cutout onto. It's just a plate that covers up the end of the y with a butterfly like a throttle body, and an electric motor to open and close the butterfly. You can put any 3 bolt cutout on there, or a 3 bolt blockoff plate, and if it were to break you'd unbolt it and ship it back to them. Supposedly people have had really good luck with the DMH units, which is why I bought it in the first place.

personally I like the basic bolt down cutout like I have, with the amount of times I
scrape it on speed bumps, dips, etc. all that wiring could be getting snagged and torn
out

plus I paid 35 for mine and like 10 to install

just take it to any exhaust shop and they can install it for dirt cheap

btw, remember if you do a cutout, you might not want to lower your car, gator's is
lowered but I don't know how often he drives it, this car is your daily driver, correct?
if so lowering it might cause a shit load of scrapping and possibly bend it out of shape

i daily drove my car lowered for years with the cutout. my cutout is in the I pipe near the backjust before the pipe goes over the axle. so no clearance issues. esp if the car isnt slammed and on skinnys (shorter tires) in teh front. its still straight out at the end of the pipe and works well. i run without it capped unless i ever decide to leave town or get on the highway for a longer period (like driving out to BMP). but it really doesnt bother me. just vibrates teh car more. i have the bolts welded to the cutout so all i do is put on the cap, and hand tighten the nuts. takes litereally a few minutes and i dont have to lift the car up at all. just get on my back and reach.

I saw the one Billy had which was superior to the QTP I had on my WS6 back when...I say just save for true duals, much better imo
