ok, lets talk suspension
i searched for this earlier, and there wasnt anything that i was really looking for. im going for more drag racing, street driven everyday, but i want this car to squat.
im thinking on doing some rear stuff first off. control arms and shocks first. but again, im a chevy newb. on my mustang i went with springs and shocks, kept the stocker uppers and lowers.
i know the mustang brands, but ive been looking at BMR and some others. so with this said:
which set up would you guys recommend
i dont want shit to scrape
im willing to swap springs on this car
why do these cars need relocation brackets
etc
when i was looking at the 3.5 exhaust on juiced' car, it gave me my first real look at a nice suspension shot on the F body from an underneath view. another question is wtf is that bar going next to the drive shaft?

U dont lower ur car for drag racing so u wont have to worry about scraping.
Your detuned Bilstein SLP shocks are meant for Road Racing with streetablility in mind so you'll probably want to put some Hal or Koni adjustables in there..
Relocation brackets were designed for lowerd cars to keep the lower control arms at an acceptable angle for launchs/torque loads on your rear end. When u lower the car the LCA's will point more horizontal when they should be at a slight angle.. Now with a car thats not lowered its ok as they will tend to improve launchs.
Adjustable torque arm by BMR is a good start too. The stock torque arm is like a rubber band..
And ummmm i think when u said "whats that bar going next to your drive shaft"...???? that bar is the Torque Arm... Very important piece of equipment.
Tires are the most noticeable part of this equation.. If u want Drag racing with streetablility then get a nitto drag radial.. will last u about 10,000 miles of driving but will hook better than street radials.
Start with LCA's, Torque Arm, and Tires...

torque arm, drag launch springs, relo brackets
you want your frame to flex lightly, so stay away from stiff SFCs and front sway bars.
BMR for the relo brackets and torque arm http://www.thunderracing.com
Eibachi(sp!?!?) for the springs

well i dont want to go against what the others have said, but i go consistent 1.53-1.55 60' times on regular TNT nights with STOCK tq arm, BMR lowering springs, STOCK shocks, and i have relocation brackets and BMR lower control arms. stock springs are great for drag racing. relocation brackets are great for stock height cars too. more loading of the rear is needed. just dont need to go to the lowest setting on the bracket. i have about 100 passes of 1.59 60' or quicker on my STOCK tq arm. its fine for me launching on slicks. ove 400 passes on the tq arm overall.
squating is NOT good for drag racing. if you want weight transfer, you want the front to rise slightly. get the weight off the front. the rear should plant the tires. in fact, the rear should actually rise. yea, not the popular answer! the tires do the work, NOT the suspension. any chasis twisting is bad. transfer that energy to the tires
this is on my 328 rwhp trans am.
